We are excited to announce our 17th annual Divefest, taking place on August 28th. This year's events will include two great underwater games, and of course lots of prizes!

DiveFest 2010 promises to be another exciting event. With quality prizes being offered, to include an opportunity to enjoy a liveaboard cruise with Blackbeard Cruises, Lake Rawlings is dedicated to serve the needs of the diving community, and to donate a most generous portion of the revenues collected from DiveFest to support the Divers Alert Network (D.A.N.). This is a glorious occasion for the diving community to come together, and we are pleased to bring this editon of DiveFest for the enjoyment of all participating divers.

On the closing of the lake
We will be closing the lake before each event. This is done both to allow things to settle a bit, giving better visibility during each event, and also to allow our divemasters to prepare the lake for each event.

As an example, at 2:00pm we will close the lake to entering divers. By 3:00pm, any divers in the water must exit so that we can prepare for the event. If you aren't in by noon, just relax for a while.

PLEASE DO NOT ASK TO ENTER THE LAKE AFTER IT IS CLOSED!!!

Safety
Over the past sixteen years, Lake Rawlings has maintained a perfect safety record for our Divefest events, and we would like to keep it that way! Each event will be preceeded by a dive briefing, and safety procedures will be covered.

Dive buddies are required. If you don't have one we will find you one.

Each diver is responsible for their own safety at all times!

Who can play
The events are open to certified divers. While swimmers may participate in the Treasure Hunt, most of the prizes will be located in 20 or more feet of water. For the Scavenger Hunt, night diving experience is highly recommended.

But what about...?
The Divemaster in charge has the final say on all event and safety decisions. (So be nice to him, eh?)
