Testimonials

From One of our Scuba Camps "I felt the instructor was engaging and patient while still demanding attention to safety and detail. She was able to hold the attention of six teenaged boy scouts without using a gun which is an unbelievable feat in itself. The content of the course was covered completely and built upon step by step which is the best way to learn these important skills. The lake and facilities were excellent. The cabins were comfortable and clean. . . . . Great Experience!“

"Keven and Dalelynn have done an outstanding job. I see a lot of comments about Keven and all I can say is that it comes from people that are usually trying to get over on you guys, or who try to get away with something. You go out of your way to help them and they are still not happy. So pat these guys on the back, they need it. They take a lot of heat that is not deserved. They have always taken care of me, my staff, and my students. Please share my comments with them."

I was recently out at the lake on a photo shoot and I Loved it. I really have never been to a lake that I loved more. The staff was more than helpful and the view was never dull. I learned so much out there and will be returning very soon for more swimming. I'm looking to better my free diving and swimming and I can't think of a better place to achieve that goal then Lake Rawlings. I just want to say thank you to everyone involved in keeping that lake beautiful and functional.

"It was Awesome!"

That was the common reaction to the Morale, Welfare and Recreation event organized by the Maryland Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry Regiment during its Annual Training in June at Fort Pickett, Va.

In the midst of training for the battalion’s upcoming deployment to the Sinai Peninsula, the unit leadership organized an introductory scuba diving trip to Lake Rawlings to help the Soldiers unwind. Located only a few miles southeast of Fort Pickett, Lake Rawlings is one of the premier scuba training sites on the east coast.

The management team, consisting of Errol Duplessis, Keven Young and Dalelynn Sims provided a two-tiered event for the 33 Soldiers who participated. Nine Soldiers who had been previously certified in scuba diving were given a refresher course which included a review of equipment, techniques, safety and dive tables. Their class culminated with two dives to a sunken school bus and airplane. Twenty-four Soldiers, who had never before experienced scuba diving, underwent the Professional Association of Dive Instructors “Discover Scuba Diving” class, which covered basic diving concepts and skills followed by a dive under the direct supervision of divemasters.
